Who is responsible for the Great Housing Bubble? It is one thing to identify who or what caused the bubble, but it is another to assign responsibility and blame. Borrowers, lenders, investors, and the FED are all responsible; it is only a matter of degree.

People have not fully grasped the changes that will result from the deflation of The Great Housing Bubble. The 2008/2009 recession will not likely reach the severity of The Great Depression, but it will signal the end to the lifestyle to which so many have become accustomed.

Investor confidence in the market for CDOs and all mortgages was shaken during the decline of the housing bubble, and rightly so. Investors were losing huge sums, and nobody clearly understood why. There was a widespread belief these losses were caused by some outside factor rather than a systemic problem enabled by the lenders and investors themselves.
